I also recommend changing out the front springs to a heavy-duty version as the substantial weight of the winch assembly will drop the front end.

I think a better solution is a discrete winch setup thats locked in securly, and not as exposed to the elements and does not overhang on the front bumper. Just my opinion though.

You cannot see if your wire/rope is spooling properly, you are just guessing until it is too late. You should always be able to see the wire/rope and spool.
