Must be do-able, probably won't work with after-market propshaft....

These have been around awhile, I made several for the feds back in the 70's, they were investigating organized crime guy who liked to dynamite cars of troublemakers.

Nice Buzz, I sure hope my after market prop shaft has nothing to do with it:.
I have never heard of anyone installing one on a D II, there are so many make and models some am some fm and i am just curious to see what has worked for others. Or am i venturing into the unknown with this in our community.

That would be one hell of a bad day: turn key and go boom

I like the ones with the smartphone app so you can start/stop/lock/unlock the doors from your phone anywhere you have a cell signal.
You could be on a extended business trip to Hong Kong and start your truck to charge the battery.

Why are you wanting one, many threads over the years have mentioned them, non too favoribly.
My big thing against them is our engines run too rich so why let them sit out in the cold and foul out the engine any more then is necessary?

I would just like to be able to start my truck about 5 minutes before i leave so its warm instead of having a cold truck or having to walk out twice. Just a convenience or maybe lazy I'm not sure. Just curious for sure Mike, about how it has worked for others. And if has caused anyone problems.

Go read up on it Phil. If you know by now how rich our engines run in open loop on a cold start then you are not as familiar with them as you thought. Just go stick your nose back to the exhaust pipe as soon as you do a clod start in the morning.

I know exactly how a fuel injected engine works Mike, they run open loop (full choke) until the O2 sensors are warmed up, which only takes a min or so because they are heated O2's.
Meaning they have their very own heating element.
So, they run rich for a min or so when stone cold, thats it.
Personally when it is cold out I just walk out to the driveway and start the engine and then go back inside, I turn on the rear defroster if needed.
Depending on the time of year I will let it warm up for 10-15 min before leaving for work/home.
Been doing that for 70,000 miles and no problems.

I like those...until you go into the boonies and can't unlock your car, or if you're in an underground parking garage in the city and don't have cell service. I am interested about this remote start stuff, it's cold in VT winter!
